In the spring of 1917, the Albatros D III through D Va fighters were more or less “standard equipment” in all 37 German fighter squadrons at “the front”.  They were in large part responsible for German air superiority which reached its peak in “Bloody April” 1917.  It was only toward the end of 1917, with the arrival of the S.P.A.D.’s, S.E.5’s and Camels that the balance began to shift back to the Allies.

  • Custom formed aluminum landing gear and axle assembly for strength and good ground handling.  No flimsy gear here.  Plywood mounts and large, light weight wheels are included.
  • Construction is from 6mm Depron with 3mm tail surfaces.
  • All Depron parts are machine cut and "keyed" for easy, accurate assembly.
  • Wings are machine to accept the supplied 1/8" carbon tube spars, just CA the spars in place.
  • The wings have servo pockets machined for correct servo placement.
  • Laser cut plywood control horns are included.
  • Pushrods with "Z' bends and Micro "EZ" connectors are included.
