Fokker Dr 1

The Fokker Dr-1 entered service in 1917 with von Richtofen's "Flying Circus".  While its service life was relatively brief it did achieve considerable success.  The legendary "Red Baron", Manfred von Richtofen was flying a Dr-1 when he was finally shot down, whether by the Camel of Capt. Roy Brown or by an obscure Australian anti-aircraft gunner remains a mystery.  There is no mystery however, to the nimble flight characteristics of the Rough and Ready Aviation Fokker Dr-1

  • Unique multi-layer Fuselage construction is light, stiff and has better resistance to twisting than "X" or carbon braced fuselages.
  • Fuselage design insures proper component placement and allows partial concealment of the receiver, servos and battery and completely conceals the wiring and ESC.  No wires hanging loose!
  • The Fuselage is pre-assembled in factory jigs to ensure accuracy.
  • Custom aluminum motor mount and hardware.
  • Custom formed aluminum landing gear and axle assembly for strength and good ground handling.  No flimsy gear here.  Plywood mounts and large, light weight wheels are included.
  • Construction is from 6mm Depron with 3mm tail surfaces.
  • All Depron parts are machine cut and "keyed" for easy, accurate assembly.
  • Wings are machine to accept the supplied 1/8" carbon tube spars, just CA the spars in place.
  • The wings have servo pockets machined for correct servo placement.
  • Laser cut plywood control horns are included.
  • Pushrods with "Z' bends and Micro "EZ" connectors are included.
  • Ultra strong, easy to install Mylar hinges.
  • All necessary hardware to compete the airframe is included.
  • And best of all, super quick and easy assembly.  Your Rough & Ready Aviation Fokker Dr 1 can be ready to fly in less than a day!
